Crop-MATCHING
Crop-MATCHING – A thematic network to boost small-scale sustainable farming through sustainable cropping practices
Project number: 101182980
Funding programme: Horizon Europe (HORIZON-CL6-2024-GOVERNANCE-01)
Project duration: 1 October 2025 – 30 September 2029
Crop-MATCHING is funded under the Horizon Europe programme and implemented within the call HORIZON-CL6-2024-GOVERNANCE-01-9. The project aims to establish a thematic network that supports small-scale farmers and foresters by identifying, analysing and disseminating sustainable cropping practices.
The project focuses on mapping more than 100 underutilised farming practices and matching them to different European pedoclimatic zones and smallholder needs. Crop-MATCHING promotes solutions such as crop rotation, strip cropping and mixed cropping systems, contributing to the objectives of the European Green Deal, the Farm to Fork Strategy, the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the Long-Term Vision for Rural Areas.
The project will deliver:
- open-access databases of best practices,
- information packages and fact sheets,
- digital cloud-based solutions,
- e-learning materials,
- infographics and videos,
- networking activities and practice groups.
The project is coordinated by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). The Polish Farm Advisory and Training Centre (PFATC) is a full consortium partner in the project.
